DOT Is Cracking Down On USDOT Lettering On Commercial Vehicles | Must Read

Have you ever seen those truckers who display their USDOT and all of their crucial numbers on a piece of paper or carboard? Well, DOT officers across the US are cracking down on this style of lettering since it’s not compliant with USDOT & FMCSA rules and regulations.

Your lettering must be displayed firmly on your commercial vehicle, it must be easy to read & it must be visible from a distance of 50 feet. The lettering must also contrast with the color of your vehicle. If your truck is white, a dark color such as black or navy will do just fine. Also, keep in mind that the font must be easy to read.
